Maria Kapsokefalou

Maria Kapsokefalou

Maria Kapsokefalou is Professor in Human Nutrition at the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA). She is the Director of the Institute of Agriculture and Food of the AUA Research Center, the Director of the Graduate Program “Food, Nutrition, and Health”, the Director of the Laboratory of Food Chemistry and Analysis at AUA and a member of the Board of Directors, European Food Information Resource (EuroFIR) AISBL. She has over 20 years of experience in developing, participating and/or coordinating projects that link the composition of foods to their nutritional impact, aiming to promote Public Health though better nutrition. Currently she is working on development and applications of food composition databases.

Vlassopoulos

Antonis Vlassopoulos

A dietitian with more than 10 years’ experience in food data and their applications in bioactive intake assessment, food policy, labelling, product design and reformulation. He has experience in the food industry, academia, and the public sector in issues related to food and nutrition data collection, analysis, and translation. Currently, a senior researcher at the Agricultural University of Athens in the field of food policy and food composition databases.

Xanthopoulou

Stephania Xanthopoulou

Stephania Xanthopoulou is a food scientist currently pursuing a PhD on advancing food data for branded foods and supplements in Greece. Her research focuses on nutritional composition, food labeling, and quality characteristics of packaged food products. Beyond academia, she has experience in food quality assurance and nutrition communication. She has interned as a food composition researcher at EuroFIR in Brussels, an organization dedicated to curating and enhancing food composition data in Europe and beyond.

Igor Pravst

Prof. dr. Igor Pravst

Prof. Igor Pravst, PhD in Chemistry (University of Ljubljana), is an expert in nutrition and public health, focusing on food composition, labelling, and functional foods. He leads a number of studies conducted within various European and national research projects. Igor Pravst also collaborate with academic institutions. He is a Professor in Nutrition at the Higher School of Applied Sciences (VIST), where he is leading of “Nutrients” module, and a supervisor of a number of MSc and PhD students at the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana. He has published widely in top journals including Nature, Nutrients, and Food Policy. Igor is also a member of the Slovenian Board for food safety.

Masa Hribar

Dr. Maša Hribar

Dr. Maša Hribar is a researcher at the Nutrition Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia. She is actively involved in the national research program Nutrition and Public Health and participates in national and international projects in food and nutrition. She coordinates national food monitoring activities using the Composition and Labeling Information System (CLAS), a comprehensive database that supports research, policy-making, and public health initiatives through systematic data collection on prepacked foods and dietary supplements available on the Slovenian market. She holds a PhD in Biosciences, specializing in Nutrition, from the University of Ljubljana, where her research on vitamin D status in adults informed national strategies. For her work, she received the 2025 Jesenko Award for outstanding doctoral research.

Edvina Hafner

Edvina Hafner, PhD Candidate

Edvina Hafner is PhD Candidate at the Nutrition Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia and is part of national research program Nutrition and Public Health. Edvina obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degree at the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana, at the Department of Food. Her doctoral research focuses on food labelling, nutrient profiling models (Nutri-Score, Health Star Rating, FSAm-NPS), and consumer behaviour. In addition to her academic work, she actively communicates scientific findings through social media and public outreach. Her work supports evidence-based policy-making and contributes to national and EU-level discussions on food labelling and healthy food environments.

Artemi Chatzigeorgiou

With a longstanding executive role in Research & Development at Delta Foods S.A., Artemi has consistently led the strategic advancement of the company’s product portfolio across various food categories. Her expertise in food science and technology is complemented by active participation in national and European industry bodies, including SEVT and FoodDrinkEurope, contributing to policy development in nutrition, health, and sustainability. She has spearheaded initiatives for products of high nutritional value, for reformulation of products towards improved nutritional profiles and for the establishment and execution of the corporate nutrition strategies. Strong collaborations with academic institutions have supported evidence-based innovation and scientific dissemination. Her work reflects a systems-oriented approach to food innovation, aligned with regulatory developments and evolving consumer needs. She is currently the R&D and Packaging Development Director in Delta Foods S.A.

Koutli-Marialena

Marialena Koutli

Marialena is a senior Marketing & Innovation leader with over 20 years of experience driving brand transformation and growth across leading multinational and Greek companies, such as Pepsico, The Coca-Cola company, Unilever and Delta. She has extensive expertise in strategic marketing, innovation development, consumer insights and building profitable portfolios. She co-founded SpArkl!ng innovation consultancy specializing in Innovation development and Consumer research, working with leading multinational companies. She founded whatanIDEA specializing in Design Thinking and Creative Problem-Solving workshops & trainings, supporting clients to unearth consumer insights, develop innovation and react faster to today’s rapidly changing environment & consumer needs. Marialena has significant experience in leading diverse, cross-functional teams across different countries and cultures, creating a strong collaborative mindset. She is currently the Marketing & Innovation Director in Delta Foods S.A.

Kostas Kampanakis

Kostas Kampakis

Kostas is a senior marketing communications executive with a varied experience of over 20 years, having worked across multiple brands and industries, either on the brand side, or on the advertising agency side, including some of the biggest food, FMCG and CPG brands in Greece and beyond. He has specialized on MarComms digital transformation projects and has been a recognized thought leader on the field, with numerous invitations as a keynote speaker in digital marketing conferences or a returning judging committee member for marketing industry awards like the IAB Mixx, DiMe, Tourism, Peak Performance, e-volution and Social Media Awards. He is currently the Digital and eCommerce Acceleration Manager in DELTA Foods S.A.

Katsafadou Theodora

Theodora Katsafadou

Theodora is a communications and corporate affairs professional with experience in internal and external communications. She has worked both in-house and agency-side, across FMCG and industrial sectors, including roles in HR and Corporate Communications. She has supported organizations in shaping consistent messaging, strengthening their corporate identity, and building meaningful engagement with diverse audiences. She is currently contributing to the communications strategy and content development of the “Nutritious by design” project.
